Marked Bicycle Facilities Crossing (2 Responses)

Bicycle Crossings

  • Drivers should be required to yield for cyclists in crosswalks and other marked facilities, such as road crossings of bicycle or shared use paths.
  • The current law creates an obligation for drivers to yield for pedestrians in crosswalks but they are not required to yield for cyclists.
  • No changes to this law would relieve a cyclist from the duty to use reasonable caution when crossing a road.
